The total count of fatalities due to the transport jet that burst into flames and went down has now climbed to 13, per recent statements.
City Leader's Remarks

Investigation Details
Federal officials announced that the UPS cargo plane’s left wing ignited and an power plant detached soon after takeoff from the Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport, resulting in the aircraft to plummet and burst into a fireball.
The NTSB announced it is investigating the plane’s upkeep logs, that was in Texas for maintenance several weeks before the crash.
Aviation data showed the aircraft was on the tarmac in that location from 3 September to last week.
“We are cognizant that this plane was located in San Antonio,” stated an NTSB member on the following day, not giving a specific period. “We will look at every piece of maintenance that was completed, from the San Antonio visit, right up to the date of the journey.”
Findings of Vital Items
The audio device and flight data recorder were recovered, and the motor was discovered on the airfield.
The recorders – known as data containers – were constructed to withstand collision damage and severe fire from blazes, and they looked to be undamaged when located amid the remains. Officials plan on examining information from the recorders.
Jet’s last recorded information indicated an altitude of that level and a speed of 210 miles per hour before the crash.
Service Background
Based on Federal Aviation Administration files dated last month, a fissure on a component in the fuel container needed maintenance.
Singapore-based ST Engineering, which stated it supplies structural repairs for the company’s MD-11 and operates a repair facility in Texas, chose not to provide remarks, but stated it would work closely when officials reached out it.
Services Resume
At the same time, the facility activities restarted Wednesday night with its express also known as night sort process, official a representative said. Each of the three tarmacs at the aviation hub were also reopened.
The distribution hub in this location is the company’s biggest. The hub engages over 20,000 people in the locality, handles 300 flights daily and organizes more than a huge volume of items each hour.
Local Support
A candlelight vigil was conducted on the late afternoon of 6 November by the regional labor union, which supports workers at the Louisville airport, the company’s biggest freight center.
Worker representatives, which supports UPS workers, started the vigil with a moment of silence at 5.14pm, the approximate hour of the incident previously.
“This tragedy was so abrupt, so surprising,” the leader spoke to the crowd of attendees. “No one had a chance to part to any of those who we have mourned.”
