I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
